Ray Eames es considerada la pionera del diseño de muebles modernos. Esta artista estadounidense tuvo que luchar contra la sociedad machista de la época. Su trabajo de diseño es muy extenso, aunque son sus sillas Eames las que han pasado a ser muy famosas y conocidas en todo el mundo, gracias a que han revolucionado la decoración del hogar gracias a sus colores y sus formas orgánicas. Hoy están más de moda que nunca.
Charlotte Perriand esta diseñadora francesa es la responsable del interiorismo de los edificios de Le Corbusier. Su inspiración llegaba a través de la industría automovilistica o la aeronáutica. Tres de los diseños de sillas más emblemáticos de Le Corbusier, el B301, B306 y el Comfort LC2 Grand, son su creación.
Su objetivo era desarrollar un mobiliario funcional y atractivo para las masas, por eso también dejó huella en este sector, convirtiéndose en la impulsora de la arquitectura interior tal y cómo hoy la conocemos.
A lo largo de la historia la mujer ha sido presente en todos los sectores y el diseño de interior, arquitectura y el diseño del mueble no son una excepción, tanto así que muchos de los muebles que la mayoría de las personas tienen en sus hogares son obras de ellas.
